DNA unraveled: Our first workshop at Wayside Elementary

We presented our first workshop at Wayside Elementary in Ms. Belasco’s First Grade Class. We had so much fun working and learning with the students. Thanks to Summer, Tiffany, Sarah, Koushik, and Arbaz for volunteering their time to help kick-off our project. Brian did a great job organizing. We are looking forward to coming back next spring to work with 4th grade classes thanks to support from the European Society for Evolutionary Biology.

ESEB funds DNA workshop for elementary and intermediate schools in Monmouth County

We were fortunate to receive funding to bring our DNA workshop to elementary and intermediate schools in Monmouth County. Thanks to generous funding from the European Society for Evolutionary Biology, we will be able to visit at least 10 classrooms over the next year. In addition, we will be able to supply participating teachers with kits to continue this workshop with future classes. This semester, Brian Reiss (Biology 2018) is coordinating our efforts.

We will be starting this program in the next month and are still looking for partner schools. Contact us if you would like to be included.
